Some of the most stylish bathroom products are manufactured by Catalano, a company founded in 1967 by a co-operative of people who pooled all their skills, traditional in the district of Civita Castellana, long noted for ceramic manufacture.
When production commenced during the seventies, Catalano’s range was restricted to simple monotype style sanitary fittings. However, in the early part of the 1980’s into the 1990’s Catalano began to become design orientated beginning with Balestra collection of fittings. Catalano became the first producer in the Castellana district to become designer orientated and they now have an exciting range of sanitary products which would grace any bathroom. Now one of the most important companies in Italy employing around 200 people with production and design facilities covering over 45,000 metres of space. Their distribution network covers not only Europe but worldwide as well.
There are three categories of design currently being produced by Catalano comprising Programme C, Programme Zero, Programme Verso, Programme Roma and the Thun range.
The ‘C’ collection is subdivided into five categories, four systems of washbasins and a large system of WC’s and bidets all products within the range are based on the circle and the oval, truly classical in looks.
Programme Zero products comprise basic geometrical shapes notably square or rectangular in shape. characterize Zero Program, made up of five systems that, based on the same concept, cover completely all the different customer needs. These washbasins can be installed in several ways, wall-hung, counter top, semi fitted within a vanity unit, or pedestal. Matching WCs and Bidet’s can be installed close to the wall or slightly removed, with vertical or horizontal outlet. Similarly, the Verso products are at the cutting edge of design and include ceramic shower trays of reduced thickness that can be fitted direct to the floor.
Roma Program is a sanitary-ware family that, thanks to its large range of fittings, it can be seen in two different ways, classic or contemporary style. Famously designed by Matteo Thun together with Antonio Rodriguez, the Roma range comprises 10 washbasins, two types of WCs with bidet and two shower trays.
Completing the line up is the Thun range designed by Matteo Thun, famous product and interior designer. This productive collaboration has produced numerous products such as the emblematic Thun washbasin and the innovative Girly System.
