What is a cloakroom suite?
As we are finding new ways to live in our existing homes we have seen a rise in cloakroom bathrooms. Directly referring to space under the stairs known as a cloakroom, which was used for storage of coats etc. The clutter has now been removed and that space has now been repurposed and used for a downstairs bathroom, which typically consists of a compact WC, compact basin/Compact basin with vanity unit.
However, the principle extends now across the house and people are using whatever space they have available for smaller bathrooms. The same products we have in our Cloakroom Bathrooms section can be used in an ensuite bathroom or a smaller family bathroom.
What does an en suite include?
A standard ensuite would include a toilet, basin and shower. In recent years we have seen a growing trend for a wetroom to be used in the ensuite with a compact wall hung toilet, with a compact vanity unit and basin. The advantage of using a wetroom in an ensuite means you don't really need a bulky tray and enclosure. You can use just a screen and when you combine it with a concealed shower valve and wall or ceiling mounted shower head you really are freeing up a lot of space.
Do master bedrooms have bathrooms?
Not all master bedrooms do but there are a trend and more of an expectation for the master bedroom to have an ensuite, as it is perceived to add value to a property.
What is a semi-ensuite bathroom?
A semi-ensuite bathroom has an entrance from the bedroom which you would expect, but it also has an entrance from the hallway. You don't have the same level of privacy as a normal ensuite bathroom but it does mean the rest of the family can use it.
