Bathrooms need to be designed with several key criteria in mind. Quality of products and the function of the product should be at the forefront of any design. For many of our customers' functionality is key, but that does not have to be at the detriment of the design aesthetic. Bathrooms should be a sanctuary in the home. The best bathroom designs will combine safe bathing with bold interiors styles where anyone, regardless of age or ability, will not only feel relaxed and comfortable but also at ease and safe in the environment.
We have put together our AX-ES section for customers who require that extra functionality but do not want to compromise on design. We work closely with brands and manufacturers where accessible bathrooms designs and products are necessary for their customer demographic and this section encompasses full ranges of products for all ages and abilities.
We have also included many products and inspirational ideas for the bathroom which will help with mobility issues or disabilities, but also products for those of us who just need a little more help. Bathrooms need to be multifunctional rooms for multiple users. Accessible bathroom product designs range from simple accessories such as footrests in the corner of showers to cutting edge shower toilets combining the bidet and the toilet functionality in one very refreshing and hygienic solution. We have easy access baths, full walk in shower solutions to replace baths; shower seats grab bars which look like designer soap holders and many other idea’s which ensure not only the bathroom functionality but also that you remain living independently in an environment of your choice whatever your mobility or level of ability.
Our AX-ES section also aims to go much further. We have guidance on rules and regulations which cover current general bathroom standards for both bathroom design and requirements at the product level. It is important that building regulations are also adhered to and we have included guidance notes in these areas. Our team are also well briefed and trained both generally for accessible bathrooms but also at the product level and are on hand if further questions or advice are required – if they don’t know they will find someone who does.
Many accessible bathrooms are also eligible for zero VAT. You will have to qualify and HMRC guidelines are included in our AX-ES section but UK Bathrooms can deduct the VAT from the sale so long as we have proof of relevant documentation.
